BloomSmith has provided a £1.3m VAT bridging loan supporting the purchase of a Grade I listed hotel in Hampshire.

The facility met the VAT liability arising at completion, meaning the borrower’s own capital remained available for the wider project rather than being tied up in the tax payment.

This preserved room to fund development works as the scheme progressed.

The deal was brought to BloomSmith by the managing director of Tulip Group of Hotels.
